TIK

Textual Internationalization Key

A TIK is a translation key you write directly in your source code, as the message text itself:

reader.String(
	`You have {# unread messages}.`,
	unreadCount,
)

TIK processors extract TIKs from the code and turn them into ICU messages for translation.
